I’m a die hard fan of Chrome browser and have been using it since I first came to know about it. No doubt, it’s the lightest browser with many awesome features which are hard to find on its competitor like Firefox and Opera. Last month, a shared a post on this blog about the launch of Google Chrome 16 dev version. In that post, I told you about almost all the new features, and One of them was setting up Chrome with your Google account.
I use Chrome browser, no matter which PC I’m on or where I’m. Like you, I’ve saved hundreds of bookmarks in my Google Chrome. When I use Chrome browser on someone else’s computer, I always miss my bookmarks and all the settings such as favourite Chrome Theme, Home Page, Search Engine, etc. But thanks to the new feature of Google Chrome. Now I can use my own Chrome settings on any machine without having to manually import my bookmarks and themes.
If you’re using Google Chrome Dev version, there should be a hypertext ‘Not signed in to Chrome’ on the top right corner of Chrome’s new tab page, if you haven’t already signed in. You can also go to the Chrome settings and find ‘Sign in to Chrome’. Clicking on it will take you to the Chrome sign in page wherein you’ll be asked to set up Chrome with your Google account.
What’s the use of setting up Chrome with Google account?
You might be thinking that why should I set up Chrome with my Google account. The answer is simple. Once you have set up Chrome browser with your Google account, it automatically sync your bookmarks, history and settings, so that whenever you use Chrome on someone else’s computer, simply sign in to Chrome and get all the settings, bookmarks and all Chrome data from your own machine without the need of wires. It’s awesome, isn’t? ![]()

You can use your Chrome settings on different machines, and when you sign in to Chrome on multiple computers, any changes you make on one computer will automatically appear on other computer. Once you’ve signed in to Chrome with your Google Chrome, you’ll be asked ‘what you want to sync with Google account’. Click on the ‘Advanced’ link and check the options that you want Google account to sync.
When you’re logged in to Chrome, you can always see your Google email address through which you’ve signed in at the top right corner of the screen. This was the feature that I had been waiting for a long time. Now I can use my Chrome settings and bookmarks anywhere, on any machine just by signing into Chrome browser.
