Remember the Helper for Google+ extension I shared on this blog a while ago? That extension puts a ‘Translate’ link beneath each post of Google+ and clicking on it will open a pop-up wherein it translates the post into your native language with the help of Google translate.
If you feel annoyed by pop-up windows here’s another extension that let you translate posts right inside Google+ stream. Google hasn’t integrated Google translate functionality on its social network yet. Instead, they have created a Chrome extension – Google Translate for Google Plus – that translates the post to your language without having to open a separate pop-up or window on your browser.

This official extension by Google works quite similar to Helper for Google+. It adds a ‘Translate’ link next to ‘comments’ and ‘share’. It can automatically translate any post or comment into more than 50 languages as soon as you click on ‘Translate’. Take a look at the screenshot below.
When you’ve this chrome extension installed, head over to its settings and select the language you want to translate to. By default, the translated text will be displayed with the yellow background. If you think yellow doesn’t matches plus interface, you can change this color anytime by going to the extension’s settings. Furthermore, when it translates the text into your native language you can easily revert back to original text by clicking on the ‘Show Original’ link.
Once installed, it also displays an icon on the right of the address bar. For instance, if you want to disable it, you can do it via right clicking on the icon and selecting disable. You must install this extension if you’re an active Google+ user and have some interesting posts on your stream but they’re in the languages you do not understand.
