Google Related is a newly launched Chrome extension that shows relevant content when you’re viewing a website. This feature was first seen on latest version of Google toolbar i.e version 7.1 for Internet explorer. But the team have launched a similar feature to Google chrome browser via extensions.
Once you’ve installed this extension in your chrome browser, a thin bar appears at the bottom of the website you’re visiting. The bar shows web pages, news articles, places, images and videos related to the current page. The content in the bar will change when you navigate from one page to another.
Let me tell you how it works. For example: You’re visiting Amazon.com and you want to buy an Apple iMac. When you visit the Apple iMac page on the website, Google Related bar will appear at the bottom of the screen and search for all the content from the web related to Apple iMac which might interest you and shows the content in the bottom bar.
The content of the bar will remain minimized until you hover over them with your mouse. Once you hover your mouse on the bar, the content will appear in the dedicated pop-up window, saving you the trouble of having to open multiple new windows or tabs. You can check this video out.
Just know that, if you’re using Google Related on your browser, it reduces the page loading speed as Google needs to know the URL of the page you’re visiting and this feature sends Google a lot of data to find relevant content.
You can install Google Related Chrome Extension from here.
