Just about an hour ago I wrote a post about the release of Google Chrome version of the popular game ‘Angry birds’. The game has only been live for a day and it’s already been hacked. The Chrome version of Angry Birds has 70 levels and you have to complete all 69 levels to reach at the 70th level. But a little hack in the browser can take you directly to 70th level. Wes Bos, a web developer, was able to find a little hack that gave access to all of the levels in the game.
If you want to switch the game back to all levels locked, use this code in the address bar.
Rovio mentioned that it was using HTML5′s LocalStorage to cache game files. Wes Bos explained the key to the hack in his blog.
In the talk Rovio did at Google IO, they mentioned they were using HTML5′s LocalStorage. If you open up Web Inspector in chrome, you’ll see they are keeping track of your score and stars with localstorage. Lucky for us, that means we can use setItem() set all 70 levels to 3 and get access to them all.
Try this little hack and let me know if you’re facing any problem. Don’t forget to share the post .
