Play with Facebook and Twitter via SMS

How many of you use Facebook and twitter with GPRS/Mobile Internet? If you’re a social network addict, I know you are you’ll have used GPRS. But some people don’t have GPRS enabled handset. So what to do? Ok Don’t worry I am going to tell you how you can update your both twitter and facebook status with a single SMS.

Ok Guys, all you need is a unlimited Local and National SMS pack. It depends on your state, at my place I take a pack of 74 Rs which gives me 10000 Local and National SMSs for a month. So First take a SMS pack which suits you best according to your status posting frequency.

As you all know Twitter only supports Bharti Airtel in India to update twitter status through SMS. But don’t worry If you don’t have Airtel, I have another option you can register your mobile number at SMStweet, It supports all Indian operators. Go there and follow the steps as written on their homepage and register yourself. When you will be registered then you can update your twitter status by sending an SMS to ’09220092200′.

For eg:-

Send a sms to – 09220092200
Twt Hello How are you !!

then ‘Hello How are you !!’ will be your current status on twitter. And in return you will receive a SMS which will show your last mention.

Now come to Facebook, here are two conditions :-

1) Do you want your all twitter status to automatically be published on Facebook? Ok You have to join a Facebook Application called ‘Facebook Twitter Application’ and configure settings in that application so that all your twitter status will automatically be posted on Facebook. Go to Facebook Twitter application. Ok Wait First read second point.

2) If you don’t want all your twitter status on Facebook, you can allow only selected tweets on Facebook by using Selective Tweets application. Another Facebook application, very useful and I prefer this one. Once you have done with ‘Selective tweets application’, you just have to add #fb in your tweet that you want to show on Facebook too. For eg:-

Send a sms to – 09220092200
Twt Hello How are you !! #fb

This will automatically show up on Facebook too and ‘Hello How are you !!’ will be your current status on Facebook.

Now you have done with how to post status on both Facebook and Twitter with a single SMS. Ok Now What about replying to Facebook Comments? Don’t worry If you have already taken Unlimited SMS pack you can join Facebook Mobile, after you have done with your Facebook mobile registration, you will receive comments as SMS on your number whenever anyone will comment on your Facebook status and you can reply back to add your comment too. You can also subscribe to your friend’s status by going to their Facebook profile and clicking the link ‘Subscribe via SMS’ below the profile picture. Now you have friend’s status on your mobile whenever they post anything. You can Subscribe to as many friends as you want.

Ok and what about the twitter? Well for Airtel Subscribers there is an option, Go to Twitter Mobile settings.

Verify your mobile number and then you can subscribe to your friends via SMS and it doesn’t charge you to receive subscription SMS untill you reply back. To reply you can send SMS as above method to 09220092200.
