“Google Chrome Has Stopped Working” – Many people have noticed this type of error while using Google Chrome. The same thing happened to me today. Whenever I opened Google chrome and start opening many tabs then suddenly an error occurs saying Google Chrome has Crashed.
This forced me to restart Google Chrome and If I clicked on Restore tabs, again that thing happened(All others browsers are working correctly). The problem signature was something like this :-

After searching for hours I got the solution. The solution to this problem surprized me because it was Internet Download manager which cause Google Chrome to crash every time I opened it. Actually I downloaded IDM and install it and also integrated it with all the browsers in my pc and from there, problem getting started.
I don’t know why this actually happens, but I noticed there is an issue with Google chrome and Internet Download manager.
How to fix this issue?
Open Internet Download Manager and do the following as done in images below.
Go to Download > Option
then go to General Tab > Uncheck Google Chrome option
Hope, you have fixed this error.
People are contacting IDM company to resolve this issue with Google Chrome.
Update
You can use oGet Google chrome extension to integrate IDM with Google chrome.

I don’t have IDM. But I had Google Chrome stop working on me three times.
1. System tools 2011 = Most programs on my computer quit, not just Google. I downloaded and ran a malware program in safe mode [with networking]. Google came back.
2 and 3. Avast! antivirus update = Again, some programs quit, not just Google. I did a system restore. The 2nd time this happened, I uninstalled Avast. Google came back.
The point: if Google Chrome isn’t working and the IDM thing doesn’t work [or you don't have it], consider a virus or malware problem! You may also have recently installed an update for a antivirus program. Uninstall the update, or the program. You’ll also need to do a system restore.
Hello Kelly,
It’s strange that installing updates for an antivirus crashes Google Chrome. May be you’re not using latest version of Google Chrome or may be some heavy virus causing this. But I recommend you to keep your anti virus up to date. Because not updating programs installed on your computer can harm your computer. Check this post I updated a while back http://www.avitricks.info/2010/12/how-to-automatically-update-programs-to-prevent-online-attacks.html
i use win 7 premium 64 bit,it also says google chrome has stopped working.
