5 Good alternatives to google analytics

Google analytics, as you all know that Google analytics is a great tool to measure website traffic. It uses javascript to track upto 5 websites. It tells about site usage, visitor overview, traffic source overview, content overview and much more. I don’t think that you are not aware of Google Analytics but if you wanna try some good alternatives of Google analytics try these great tools.

  • Statcounter: Statcounter is another award winning site tracking tool. The reason people like it so much because of the simplicity of statcounter. It uses graphs and chart to help users visualize their statistics. If you are using free version of statcounter then you can only view the log upto 500 page loads. Here is the online demo.
  • Piwik: Piwik is an open source self-hosted web analytics software, that can produce slick reports of site visitors, popular pages, search engines keywords, languages etc., but offers much more in the way of owning your data, and being able to do more with it. Piwik won the ‘Best of Open Source Enterprise Applications (Web Analytics)’ in Infoworld’s annual BOSSIE Awards. Piwik is also using embedded JavaScript to collect raw data like Analytics. Here is the online demo.
  • Sitemeter: Sitemeter has great maps and graphs, and is a superb tracking tool to help, in watching the growth of your site. One irritating thing from sitemeter is its Logo, once html inserted, you’ll see the Sitemeter logo and clicking on the logo will be directed to sitemeter. Here is the Online demo.
  • Awstats: Awstats(written in Perl) is a free http log analysis tool. It can work as a CGi script with broser interface. It is not as feature-rich as Google Analytics but it is a good compromise between features, ease of use and reliability. Here is the online demo. One small problem with Awstats is that you can’t see the full list of some stats. Suppose you have a very large referrers list, might go to a few thousand and the last entry is “Others”, which shows a total for those referrers not included.
  • GetClicky: Clicky is an another free web analytic tool that can work as a javascript. It can also track Flash and Ajax events. One of the best feature in clicky is spy i.e allows you to look at the traffic right at the moment. The company have launched the iphone version of clicky so you can check your traffic stats wherever you are. Here is the Online demo.

So, these are the 5 alternatives to Google analytics. If you know any web tracking tool which can be compare with these tools, do let me know by commenting.
